Leeds United’s players will party long into the night after securing promotion to the Premier League – and footage has emerged of them wildly celebrating their success at Elland Road.
The club have been forced to wait for 16 years to bring an end to a lengthy period of turmoil, chaos in the dugout and near misses, with West Brom’s defeat against Huddersfield ensuring Leeds’ top flight spot.
A mass of supporters gathered around the stadium to bask in the glory, and they were later joined by their heroes at a distance as blue smoke from multiple flares filled the air.
The players grouped together at their home ground to watch the game at the John Smith’s, and the final few seconds of the game were caught on camera before they exploded in a whirlwind of jubilation.
Champagne showers and chants of ‘We are going up’ can be seen and heard in the video, with several stars even being soaked as they danced and joked around with their team-mates.
And chairman Andrea Radrizzani also shared his delight after Leeds’ Premier League hiatus was shattered.
